I’ve been on quite a computer kick this summer, dabbling in some web design, photo enhancement, and graphic design projects. I wanna show you this picture I made — it’s my first typography piece. I keep seeing typography everywhere, and and it’s much cooler than just writing a list. It really helps you see language from a new angle… Heh heh. Heh. Ahem.
Anyway, here it is. You can read the passage that inspired it below.
2 Peter 1:3-11 – Making one’s calling and election sure
“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by his own glory and goodness.Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
“For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness;
and to goodness, knowledge;
and to knowledge, self-control;
and to self-control, perseverance;
and to perseverance, godliness;
and to godliness, brotherly kindness;
and to brotherly kindness, love.
“For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.
“Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall,and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
I love your blog. I love this passage and love your typography. I am a high school friend of your mom’s and found this while looking at her page and going to yours. I love that you love Jesus! Can I post your typography to my blog? It is so beautiful. I love this whole passage, and I just wrote about it on my Bible Book Club blog (I think it is a scheduled post. So, I don’t think it has posted publicly yet or I would give you the URL for it).
Carol, thanks for your encouragement! You are welcome to post my typography to your blog. I took a look at your blog. Your faith, humility, and perseverance are incredible and inspiring!
