We are utterly hopeless to find truth.

That’s why I’m so thankful we get to celebrate Christmas — the day when,
I am convinced,
Truth found us.

Truth
Came to this little planet in this big universe.
The voice that spoke every molecule and Joule into existence
spoke our language.
Walked on ten little humanoid toes
in a universe He built with His breath.
Experienced suffering — understood real human suffering —
met us here in that suffering…
But loved us enough not to leave us as we were.

This song reminded me of what Christmas means for the human race.
Perhaps the fate of our race was once in the hands of an infant.

Truth. If God is real, and He cares that we know Him, He can and did make a way.
And He will continue to pursue you with truth, whether you like or not,
because it’s His world and He does what we wants,
and He wants to care.

If God is not real, then we are utterly hopeless to find truth,
and there for any transcendent meaning beyond our own
little
meaningless
imaginations
and
desires.

After examining the evidence, some have chosen to place their confidence in this second route.

Biologists must constantly keep in mind that what they see was not designed, but rather evolved.
~Francis Crick, co-discoverer of the DNA molecule (written in his book What Mad Pursuit, 1990)

Science does not have the right to give to me my reason for being. But I am going to take science’s view because I want this world not to have meaning. A meaningless world frees me to pursue my own erotic and political desires. ~Aldous Huxley, author of A Brave New World

Enough of that.
~Charles Templeton

We can’t know everything. But God gives each person at least enough of Himself to know whether or not He is real. (Romans 1:20)

The challenge is, will you dare to go where the evidence points (physical, natural, logical, emotional, spiritual — all the measuring tools you have)? Or will you stick with what allows you to sit on throne of your illusionary world?

Luckily for you, your universe was invented by a God who has given you that choice.
