Rain taps on my window,
Beckoning me to come out to play.
But I can’t, sir, it’s bedtime,
And I just lit a match.

I am burning my new candle
To prepare for autumn,
my lovely guest.
I am excited to see her again, for
she has known me since I was a girl.

What is my life?
I have people to love,
and that gives my life meaning.
I have a book to read,
and that gives my life perspective.

I have the autumn rain,
and she brings back memories.
I have a job now, kind of,
and that gives me means.

I have a God who loves me.
Surely He gives me all things.

Goodnight, fallen world.
I’ll face you another day yet.
