Yesterday, I created a post calling my readers to write a letter to or about their Dad or another father in their life.  I have received three beautiful testimonies of some sons and daughters to the effect their dads have had on them.  Take a look:

I want to give a shout out to my dad, Mark Bradshaw. He is the coolest, and I am proud to be like him. He raised me with loving care and taught me how to do almost everything I know how to do, including love! Without my father, I wouldn’t be anywhere near the man I am today.

My dad is a “Jack-of-all-trades” and has taught me the value of serving others. My dad loves his dad too (God) and is a huge factor in my knowledge of God. He has taught me that God loves me and that he wants to dedicate his life to loving me the same way God does. Thank you, Dad, I am proud to be your son.

I love how passionate you are. Most dads are scared to cry in front of their kids, but you aren’t. I love how you love Mom and would die for her. I want to love my wife the way you love Mom. I want to love my kids the way you love me and Ashley.

1) Dad, thank you for always providing for me, initiating spitball fights in restaurants, and always being there. You taught me so many essential life skills, and many non-essential life skills that have made me stand out unique. I love you, and I am so grateful to have you in my life!

2) Abba, I sometimes don’t understand why certain things happen, or why You do things the way You do. But I know for sure that You know me better than I know myself, and that You care. And I love You so, so much, more than I can express!”

Dear Jesus,

Thank you for being my Father when mine was never there for me and pushed me aside in my early years. Even through all of the times I have cried, I have known you to be faithful and true.  Thank you for who you are and all my whys.  Jesus, you were there for me before I was born. And when I was born, even though my heart was torn, you mended me and knitted me together. Thank you, Jesus, for being there when I rode my first bike, took my first fall, and most of all, for being the Father of it all. Jesus, you walk with me, and you talk with me all the days long.  And Jesus, you are my Father who knows it all.  Thank you for being the best daddy I’ve ever known.   I am so ready for more adventures with you, for you are faithful and true!  Amen.  (Happy Father’s Day!)”

If you were inspired to write a shout-out of your own, please shout it out in the comments section, or else shoot me an email.  (Take a look at the prompt if you’re interested.)  Thank you to those who lovingly submitted their heartfelt words!

Happy Father’s Day!
